  • Nursery (Newborn–3 Year Old)

Our loving nursery workers provide a clean and safe environment for children in our nurseries to enjoy their time. The volunteers who work in our nursery are well-qualified, carefully selected, friendly, and helpful. Parents who place their child in one of our nurseries receive a pager so that they can be contacted should a need arise. Nursery care is provided for newborns through three years old.

  • Peewee Club & Patch Club and Children's Bible Club

Patch the Pirate Clubs are an exciting part of the ministry here. The Patch the Pirate Clubs meet every Wednesday night during the school year. The older children (grades 1-6) participate in the Patch Club, while younger children (ages 4-6) are part of the PeeWee Patch Club. In Patch the Pirate Clubs, the children have the opportunity to hear exciting stories, start the discipline of daily devotions from God's Word, enjoy a snack, and learn new songs and some music theory. Once a month, the PeeWee Patch and Patch kids share what they have been learning with the rest of the adults during a Wednesday Evening Service by performing songs and small plays.

CBC meets every Wednesday night at 7 pm during the summer months (June through mid-August), where Bible lessons and activities happen each week for three-year-olds through 6th graders.

  • Teenage Ministry

Two Young Girls Laying On A Raft – Virginia Beach, VA – Tabernacle Baptist Church

Our teenagers (7th grade–19-year-olds) are comprised of young people associated with Tabernacle Baptist Church and Tabernacle Baptist Academy. They meet regularly for a Youth Chapel Time on Wednesday evenings during the school year and assist in teaching children during a Wednesday night summer program (June-August).

What is the purpose of our Youth Group?

To provide a place for young people to grow in grace by being grounded in truth.

To allow teens to build lasting and purposeful friendships with their peers and youth leaders by encouraging edifying relationships with other Christians.

To provide avenues for service, fun, and fellowship.

To prepare teens for the next steps and stages of life with a Biblical foundation.

To empower and embolden life-changing relationships with those who don't know Christ.

  • OWLS – Older Wiser Loving Saints

While our OWLS maybe 55 and over, we are anything but sitting still. We get together regularly to visit shut-ins, celebrate holidays, see new sites, enjoy retreats, and spend some time fellowshipping. We have plenty of activities throughout the year.

  • Sunday School

Regardless of age, we have a Sunday School class for all children (and adults). Our Sunday School teachers are knowledgeable volunteers who teach age-appropriate Bible lessons. The children often have some craft during their time in Sunday School.

Adult Sunday Bible Classes meet each Sunday in five different classes covering various subject matters related to truth.

  • Junior Church

Children ages 4 through 7 can participate in our Junior Church service on Sunday mornings while the adults gather for the morning worship service. Those in Junior Church usually accompany their parents at the beginning of the worship service and are dismissed during the service. Our Junior Church includes exciting songs, missionary stories, and a Bible lesson that is relevant to children.

  • Tabernacle Baptist Bible College & Seminary

TBBCS began in 1970 as the Bible Institute ministry of Tabernacle Baptist Church under its founding pastor, Rod Bell, Sr. Though the church had only begun in 1967, Dr. Bell and the people of Tabernacle saw a need in the Atlantic coastal region for a local-church-based Bible school, a school that stood for the fundamentals of the faith of Jesus Christ and trained fervent preachers of the Word of God.

In 1986, under the leadership of Dean Edward G. Caughill, the church expanded its Bible institute ministry to a complete four-year college, Tabernacle Baptist Bible College. Dr. Caughill had come to the ministry in 1985, bringing broad experience and expertise in the Bible college movement, and proved to be just the man to orchestrate this expansion.

Soon after that expansion, the church and college leadership responded to the need to offer an advanced level of Bible study, and in 1987, Tabernacle Baptist Church added to its Bible college ministry by establishing Tabernacle Baptist Theological Seminary. Under Dr. Caughill's continued leadership, the seminary provided advanced degrees for students desiring a more complete study of the Scriptures. With this new aspect of the ministry in place, the College and Seminary made intensive Bible study available to a wide range of individuals looking to serve more effectively in their local church ministries and desiring to develop a more excellent knowledge and understanding of God and His design for life.

Since its inception, God has used TBBCS to prepare hundreds of men and women for faithful service of Christ as pastors, teachers, missionaries, evangelists, educators, and even lay members in churches. With God's blessing upon the College and Seminary, Tabernacle Baptist Church has seen its influence on Jesus Christ extend around the world, having provided training not only for American missionaries but also for believers from other nations who came to Tabernacle to prepare for the service of God in their own countries. The present administration of the College and Seminary is committed to a continuing expansion of this influence to the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ all over the world.
